Kimberly Turner is a registered landscape architect in Massachusetts and Maine who has been designing landscapes for nearly 15 years. She has a background in both horticulture and landscape architecture, having earned her B.S. in Landscape Horticulture from the University of Maine and her Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts. She received an ASLA honor award in 2001 for her graduate work and is an associate member of ASLA.
Kim has worked in both Maine and Massachusetts, designing all types of landscapes from parks and monuments to college campuses, healthcare facility gardens and private homes. She has experience in all phases of design, from schematic and design development to construction documentation, obtaining state and local approvals, and construction administration. Possessing both strong graphic and presentation skills, Kim finds working closely with clients the most rewarding and believes strongly in the power of collaboration during the design process.
Kim has always been interested in the ways landscapes impact people on a psychological level. She devoted her thesis work to therapeutic gardens and was asked to present her research in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her research reinforced the notion that landscapes have restorative effects on human beings. She strives to make gardens and landscapes accessible to everyone who may benefit from them.
