Environmental consciousness was at the center of this renovation project on Plum Island. Located on a protected dune, the homeowners sought to expand their outdoor entertaining space, make access to a parking area easier, and soften and incorporate an overhaning addition. Decking was expanded to encircle the entire structure, and a boardwalk was constructed to redirect foot traffic off the delicate beach grass and on to a lower parking area. Stained glass panels, in ocean hues, were designed to bring color and interest to the railings and overhang.
